Glencoe is a spectacular glen of steep mountain walls, waterfalls and open moor, formed by ancient volcanoes and carved by glaciers. It is also known for the Massacre of Glencoe in 1692, which hangs over the landscape.
It is a place to drive through, stop at viewpoints and walk, with options for every level, though the weather is often wet and wild.
