A weekend in Crail

A postcard harbour in the East Neuk of Fife, with lobster and pantile roofs

Crail is the prettiest of the fishing villages that make up the East Neuk of Fife, a harbour of red pantile roofs, crow-stepped gables and tiny cottages. Fishermen still land crab and lobster at the harbour, and it is one of the most photographed sights in Scotland.

The village has a small museum, a pottery and galleries, and the Fife Coastal Path runs through it, with St Andrews about ten miles to the north.
