What to expect
This walk follows a wide sweep of golden beach and dunes between Bamburgh and Seahouses, with the vast outline of Bamburgh Castle at the start, and the Farne Islands out to sea. The distance is about four miles one way, and can be done on the sand at low tide or on the dune path. Seahouses is the departure point for the Farne Islands boat trips.
Tips before you go
- Check tide times if you plan to walk on the sand.
- Wind can be strong on the open beach, so carry layers.
- Buses run between the two villages, so you can walk one way.
