The North Yorkshire Moors Railway runs steam and heritage trains for about 24 miles through the national park between Pickering and Whitby. Goathland station was used as Hogsmeade in the Harry Potter films and appeared in the TV series Heartbeat. Trains run to a timetable that changes by season and some days are diesel rather than steam.
