Malvern is a Victorian spa town on the eastern slope of the Malvern Hills, a long, narrow ridge of ancient rock rising abruptly from the plain. It was famed for its spring water, which is still sold, and for its connection with the composer Edward Elgar.
The hills give wonderful views and miles of walking, and the town has a theatre, a priory, a motor factory and a good choice of cafes and shops.
