What to expect
Tintagel Castle is a ruined fortress on a dramatic Cornish headland, linked by legend with King Arthur. A footbridge opened in 2019 connects the mainland to the island. The site includes the remains of a medieval castle and earlier settlement. There are many steep steps and uneven paths, and the cliffs are exposed.
Tips before you go
- The site has lots of steps and uneven ground.
- Parking in the village is limited and busy.
- Dress for wind, as the headland is exposed.
