What to expect
Mull is one of the best places in Britain to see sea eagles, the largest bird of prey in the UK, and boat trips from Tobermory and other harbours also aim to find minke whales, dolphins, porpoises and seals. Trips run for a few hours in small boats, and a good guide helps spot wildlife. Sightings are never guaranteed, and the weather can cancel or shorten trips.
Tips before you go
- Dress warmly and bring waterproofs, even in summer.
- Book ahead in summer, as places are limited.
- Sea eagle trips, whale trips and seal trips are separate, so choose what you want.

Frequently asked questions
Will I see a sea eagle?
Chances are good on a dedicated trip, but sightings are never guaranteed because they depend on weather and luck.
