What to expect
Burns Night is celebrated on or around 25 January, the birthday of the poet Robert Burns, with suppers of haggis, neeps and tatties, whisky and readings of his work. Dumfries is where Burns spent his last years, and the town has his house, his mausoleum and a historic pub he drank in. Local events, suppers and walks are held each January.
